Kingston Cos. moves up in Idaho 100 ranking

Kingston Cos., a leading distributor and marketer of fresh potatoes, onions and sweet pineapples, has climbed the rankings of the Idaho Private 100, a list of the top private companies in the state of Idaho.

Idaho Falls-based Kingston has been included in the top 100 since the list was started by the Idaho Statesman 24 years ago, but this year the company jumped to No. 60 from No. 86, a significant move. It also was recognized as having the highest percentage of revenue growth among those companies included on the list.

Guided by David O. Kingston for over 40 years, today Kingston Cos. consists of multiple entities combining to create what he refers to as a “mini-conglomerate.” In recent times, these include Kingston Fresh, which packs and distributes fresh potatoes, onions and pineapple throughout the United States and around the world; Associated Trucking, which provides dedicated and brokered assets to the produce industry; Kingston Properties, a multi-state real estate and investment entity that owns and manages several restaurant operations; and its newest entity, Kingston Organic, a multi-national company that manufactures an organic soil booster from oxidized lignite coal that restores the soil.
