Genpro supports U.S. service members on Memorial Day
Genpro, a transportation and logistics provider based in Rutherford, NJ, teamed up with Military Missions to write personalized cards of encouragement to U.S. troops in honor of Memorial Day.
“Those who serve our country deserve gratitude from everyone they keep safe and whose freedom they protect, and at Genpro we would like to say THANK YOU,” the company said in a statement.
Military Missions exists to support and honor deployed military personnel by sending care packages year round as an expression of appreciation and gratitude. After receiving calls and emails almost every day asking how to support U.S. troops, Military Missions created this program.
"What is the most appreciated thing in care packages? Ask anyone who has been deployed and they will tell you it’s the cards and letters they received," Military Missions said in a statement.
Military Missions was begun in November 2004 by a Lexington mother of a U.S. Marine who realized the need to support her son and his fellow Marines during their deployment. Shortly thereafter, Military Missions was born in Beth Pennington’s kitchen.
Growing little by little each year, the organization now serves deployed military personnel by sending approximately 8,000 care packages per year. The goal of Military Missions is to support and honor active-duty military members and veterans by involving the community in activities and events that will give civilians an opportunity to express their gratitude for the sacrificial service of those who wear or have worn the uniform. The organization sends thousands of cards each year in its care packages. Card donations are received from people living in all 50 states from ages 2 to 102.
