Alex Holt has been appointed Ahold Delhaize's chief sustainability officer and a member of the executive committee of Ahold Delhaize, effective no later than June 1, 2024. Holt succeeds Jan Ernst de Groot, Ahold Delhaize’s chief legal officer and chief sustainability officer, who will retire May 31, 2024.

The American Date Industry Export Trade Association is hosting USDA Foreign Agricultural Service Administrator Daniel Whitley Wednesday, Dec. 6.

Whitley will address the date industry and other specialty crop groups on the Regional Agricultural Product Promotion funding as well as other key initiatives the department is working on for export support.

The crop shift from one farming area to another is in a conversion phase. This has caused a slightly lighter supply of some items that may last until the middle of January. However, there should be some steady items available to promote in ads right now.
