Golf tournament, spa retreat and contest all part of upcoming Bozzuto's trade show
Bozzuto's Inc., the wholesale supplier to 700 supermarket retailers in the northeastern and mid-Atlantic states, will hold its Supplier Appreciation Golf Tournament & Spa Retreat Monday, Aug. 10, in conjunction with its August trade show at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods in Ledyard, CT. The golf tournament will be held at Lake of Isles, adjacent to the casino.
"Our suppliers have really supported our initiatives and programs throughout our fiscal year. We truly value the relationships we have and feel that it is important recognize all of the individuals and companies that have been instrumental in making our programs successful," Steve Heggelke, senior vice president of merchandising, procurement and advertising for Bozzuto's Inc., said in a statement. "We realize that not everyone is a golfer, so we've also included a spa package for the non-golfers. Whether it's golf or the spa, we wanted to give our suppliers a day of fun and relaxation as a sincere thank- you before our trade show begins."
Bozzuto's, based in Cheshire, CT, is in its third year of holding the Supplier Appreciation event.
Bozzuto's trade show, "Merchandising Marketplace 2008: Innovation, Inspiration, Motivation," will be held Aug. 12-13 at the new MGM Grand at Foxwoods. The trade show will also include a business session on Tuesday morning with Keith Ferrazzi of Ferrazzi Greenlight as the keynote speaker, and Barbara Glanz, author of The Simple Truths of Service, as opening presenter.
The business session will begin with breakfast and run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The trade show floor will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Following the trade show, attendees are invited to enjoy Bozzuto's Club B, an evening of great food and music. The trade show floor will be open from 9 a.m. Wednesday morning until 5 p.m.
Bozzuto's Inc. also announced that it will hold its second annual Best Bagger Contest Aug. 12 during the trade show.
"We're really looking forward to our second annual Best Bagger Contest," Mr. Heggelke said in the statement. "Last year's event was a big success, and the competition was amazing. It was a lot of fun for both the competitors and the spectators and really showed the talent we have within Bozzuto's family of retailers."
The Best Bagger Contest will be held Aug. 12 beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the Celebrity Ballroom at the new MGM Grand at Foxwoods. One bagger per store is permitted to enter, with great prizes being awarded for first-place through fifth-place finishers. Contest rules and guidelines are available for download at Bozzutos.com. Vinnie and Anita San Antonio from the Rhode Island Food Dealers Association will be officiating the contest.
