Continental Floral Greens introduces new wedding collection
Continental Floral Greens meticulously nurtures and harvests over 75 varieties of floral greens across its farms located in Washington, Oregon, California and Florida. Focused on specialty farm to market, CFG is committed to delivering superior quality floral products directly from farms to wholesalers and mass market retailers.
Innovation is at the heart of CFG, innovating from the soil up to transform floral greens into products that spark joy. Its current focus is on wedding collections, which are harvested and handmade with care on farms in the Pacific Northwest and California.
“Garlands have been a staple of our Christmas collection for decades, utilizing Pacific Northwest evergreens,” said Madison Milgard, brand director for the company. “With Christmas being our busiest season, expanding into specific everyday varieties was an easy decision. Our everyday year-round line started with western green garlands, and interest has grown over the years, allowing us to create a more expansive and meaningful line.”
The Western Greens collection includes garlands, candle rings, table runners and centerpieces, with multiple mix options to complete the entire look. It highlights long lasting greens like salal, huck and bear grass.
“The Wedding Collection comes as single items, but also in a variety box, making it easy to outfit an entire rooms’ decor,” Milgard said.
All the varieties used in the Western Greens Wedding Collection are wild grown. CFG owns and manages extensive forest acreage, utilizing sustainable harvest practices to maintain and enhance the health and beauty of the land. Harvesters hand-pick the Salal, Huck and Bear Grass that go into these garlands.
“We manage over 2.5 million acres, and it’s important for us to take care of the land,” Milgard said.
In addition to Western Greens, there is also a California Wedding Collection, which comprises hand-crafted pieces using the finest selection of California-grown greens.
“We harvest the greenery on our California farms,” Milgard said. “We use multiple Eucalyptus varieties as well as Olive for the garlands and candle rings produced in Watsonville, CA. We promote them as a 10-foot long garland, but we can customize anything and can also do combos so there’s a lot of fun things we can do. It looks beautiful for a wedding.”
The Western Green collection is available year-round and can store in coolers for a long time; the California collection has more seasonality, Olive is year-round, but the Eucalyptus line has a shorter season that is dependent on the variety.
While Continental Floral Greens does not sell directly to the consumer or florists, they are happy to direct interested parties to wholesalers or online retailers that carry their product lines.
“This is a sophisticated and simple line, but also a labor saver. Having a garland or candle ring or pre-greened centerpiece ready to go, creates more intention spent on their creative vision for the event,” Milgard said.
Looking ahead, Continental Floral Greens is teasing a Florida line, which will be available on the East Coast for shipping.
“What’s truly important to us as a company is to collaborate with our customers and support the growth of their businesses,” Milgard said. “There’s a significant difference between bulk and finished products, and we aim to simplify some of those steps for them.”
