With added potato and onion lines, E. Armata is now a full line house
E. Armata Inc., located at the Hunts Point Terminal Market in the Bronx, NY, continually strives to better serve its customers, growers and shippers.
Paul Armata, vice president and secretary of the company, said that with the addition of its potato and onion department ,it can now supply its customers with a full line of produce.
“It was an important complement to our full line fruit department, western and eastern vegetable departments, specialties, mushroom and herb department and tomato repacking department, which include all varieties and packs to provide our trade the many options they ask for,” said Armata. “Our berry program has grown consistently with daily arrivals of blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and strawberries.”
All of E. Armata’s departments enable the company to offer a large variety of items that can be picked up at its Hunts Point facility, or delivered by its fleet of trucks.
“We ensure that our supplies will fulfill the concerns and needs of our loyal mom and pop stores that shop daily in the market, and also the broader spectrum of foodservice operators and retail customers,” Armata added.
The company has undergone a major renovation in the past couple of years, in not only its dock and warehouse space, but also its streamlined and elegant offices.
“We are proud to announce the row A addition of unit 110 is currently in the process of becoming a fully renovated part of our cold chain compliant warehouse,” Armata explained. “This added space enables us to handle the products more efficiently. The renovation project will be completed shortly, just in time for the spring months heading into the peak summer season.”
May, Armata said, will kick off with the company’s expanded southern peach program. It will then move into all varieties of California tree fruit, followed by the finest table grapes available from California. Early June will introduce California cantaloupes.
Armata works alongside his brother, Chris Armata. They represent the third generation of family members to oversee the company’s operations. Fourth generation family members have also joined the staff in recent times.
