WF&FSA committee plans 2014 events
The mission of the Wholesale Florist & Florist Supplier Association is to provide networking, business opportunities and education to wholesale distributors and their floral suppliers. To support this mission, WF&FSA’s Education Committee’s goal is to develop programs for members to network, do commerce and learn by facilitating participation. In mid-March, the committee met to map out the 2014 educational plan for the association, according to a news release.
During a daylong meeting, the Education Committee focused on developing quality and diverse educational opportunities. The committee explored the critical issues and topics affecting WF&FSA members in today’s marketplace and determined how to deliver educational content to help members more effectively and profitably manage their businesses. The committee designed programs for two key association events, the WF&FSA Management Institute and the annual WF&FSA Floral Distribution Conference.
The WF&FSA Management Institute will be held July 24-26, at the Embassy Suites in Rosemont, IL, featuring the theme “Passport to Management Success: Plan. Communicate. Measure.” This program is designed for motivated branch and departmental managers who wish to hone their management skills.
The Floral Distribution Conference will be held October 22-24, at the Trump National Doral Resort in Miami, FL.
Attended by more than 700 industry leaders, the conference attracts wholesaler-distributors, hard goods manufacturers, growers and importers of hard goods and fresh floral products, transportation providers and other service companies.
This year’s program will feature, in addition to the traditional tabletop displays, a new product showcase, a wide variety of educational content including programs on goal setting and solution-oriented selling and a featured design trends program.
