Westmoreland ‘TopLine’ greenhouse vegetables sending consistent message
Westmoreland Sales “TopLine,” headquartered in Leamington, Ontario, continues to send out a consistent message about its “TopLine” brand of greenhouse produce.
“Our greenhouse vegetables are always the freshest, most flavorful and grower-direct gourmet greenhouse produce available in today’s marketplace,” said Jimmy Coppola, account and marketing manager for Westmoreland.
“We will be showcasing some new items from our ‘Gourmet Dippers’ and our ‘Gourmet Browns’ tomatoes alongside all our other specialty items at Booth No. 1715 at the CPMA Convention & Trade Show on April 15-17 in Montreal,” he said.
Westmoreland Farms ‘TopLine’ mix of high-quality greenhouse produce.Representatives from the company who will be at the booth are Dino DiLaudo, sales manager; Max Mastronardi and Tony Cappelli, account managers; and Ken Green, president.
Coppola said that more Canadian visitors attend the CPMA event than from other countries, and they represent all categories of the produce industry.
“Canadian attendees are followed by professionals from the United States and Mexico,” he noted. “The CPMA event gives us a great opportunity to sit and spend some quality time with our current partners as well as an opportunity to showcase our offerings to potential new partners.”
Westmoreland Sales “TopLine” is a leading greenhouse producer. The company’s greenhouses have the highest level food-safety program, which is monitored and audited by certified third-party audit firms. Its products are in full compliance with the standards and procedures set under Good Agricultural Practices.
“TopLine” brand greenhouse produce integrity begins with premium non-GMO seedings, nurtured in nutrient-rich water solution instead of soil. They are grown in a biologically controlled environment using Integrated Pest Management, or IPM, where good bugs are introduced to eat bad bugs.
The company is also proud of its sustainability program, and even offers a separate website — weregrowinggreen.com — specifically for those interested to learn about it. Sustainability is practiced in every aspect of the company, including greenhouse design, materials management, energy conservation and water recycling.
This past winter Westmoreland Sales “TopLine” opened a new warehouse and distribution center in McAllen, TX.
“The facility spans some 60,000-square-feet,” said Coppola. “It is in a great area to receive inbounds from our growers in Mexico, as well as to ship directly to our customers. The benefits of this are reduced food miles and delivery times.”
