Supreme Cuts rolling out new items
MAHWAH, NJ — Supreme Cuts recently rolled out some new products that have drawn an “enthusiastic response,” and the company will be re-introducing another product in the near future, according to an executive with the company.
“We have some new items that we introduced within the last few weeks,” company President Merle Axelrod told The Produce News Monday, Sept. 8, at her office, here.

“We debuted those items at the PMA Foodservice Show,” held July 25-28 in Monterey, CA, she said, “and they were met with enthusiastic response.”
Supreme Cuts, a precut vegetable processor perhaps best known for its high-quality line of snipped green beans, has another item that the trade will be seeing very soon.
“We are also excited to be re-introducing our fresh ‘Off the Cob’ brand of corn kernels,” announced Axelrod. “I get asked every week about this item.” This product is expected to start shipping around mid-September, “and will be available for a limited time.”
Supreme Cuts is a year-round distributor, of course, but with fall approaching, Axelrod stated that “autumn is a great time” for many items in the company’s line, such as Butternut chunks, sweet potato chunks, rutabaga chunks, Harvest Medley, sweet potato fries and shredded brussels sprouts.
Those items are “good sellers in the summer and all year-round,” she said, “but we’re coming into the time of year when people are embracing those types of items.”
On the personnel front, Axelrod announced that Dana Mulroy, the firm’s manager of customer services, is climbing the corporate ladder. Mulroy, 28, who joined Supreme Cuts in January 2013 and has been responsible for managing customer service, “has now been promoted and is transitioning into a sales position,” said Axelrod.
