Ron Wilkowski joins The Oppenheimer Group
Ron Wilkowski joined The Oppenheimer Group, headquartered in Vancouver, BC, as a sales representative, effective May 14. Based in the marketer's Wilmington, DE, office, he will sell Oppenheimer's comprehensive product range to customers in the Northeast.
Mr. Wilkowski's produce experience began in 1977, when he was hired to stock shelves at the Tops Market in his hometown of Buffalo, NY. In the last 30 years, he has worked in produce sales, procurement, quality control, operations and inventory management.
Most recently, Mr. Wilkowski worked for Eden Prairie, MN-based Supervalu Inc. as a corporate produce buyer in the company's buying office in Lakeland, FL.
Previously, he was the sales manager at Sunset Fruit & Vegetable Co. Inc., and earlier served as a salesperson and in banana operations for James Desiderio Produce Co. Inc., both wholesale companies based in Buffalo. Prior to that, he spent 13 years as a produce buyer for Fleming Foods in the same city.
"Oppenheimer is going through a time of expansion as we bring new varieties, products and packs to the market in greater volumes," said Bill Poulos, sales manager of the firm's Wilmington office. "Ron has come to us with a great deal of relevant experience, so he can readily take care of our customers' needs. Since he has seen the industry from so many perspectives, he brings valuable insights to the job. We are very happy that he has joined us."
