Produce Alliance adds Colorado member
Federal Fruit & Produce Co., which was founded in 1946 and services Colorado, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming from its Denver headquarters, has become the newest member of Produce Alliance.
"Federal Fruit & Produce Co. is dedicated to bringing the finest fruit and vegetable products available to its customers," said Chuck Wilkinson, managing director of Produce Alliance. By joining Produce Alliance, Federal Fruit & Produce Co. becomes part of a national distribution network. Produce Alliance is excited to announce a member in the Colorado market. This area has been a geograpical target for us for some time, and with Federal's membership, Produce Alliance will be able to cover this strategic market area.
Federals president and owner, Stan Kouba, and his partners, John Domenico and Mike Martelli, purchased the company 18 years ago. It is a full-line produce distributor that is composed of two divisions, one located in Denver and the other in Colorado Springs. The Denver division is engaged in the wholesale distribution of produce and is the largest produce wholesaler in the state.
After many years of service, we feel that we need this kind of organization to help us market to regional and national chain restaurants, said Mr. Kouba. Our membership with Produce Alliance will be a mutually beneficial relationship, and we look forward to the support of this respected organization.
The Denver division of Federal serves the produce needs of hundreds of customers, supplying a broad spectrum of items from apples and bananas to specialty items such as Portabella mushrooms, quinces and cactus pears. The Colorado Springs division also sells canned and frozen foods, meats, paper goods and other grocery-type items.
