LA QUINTA, CA – Illiana Watermelon Queen Emily Mae Brown was selected as the 2015 National Watermelon Queen Feb. 19 at the 101st National Watermelon Association convention,
2014 National Watermelon Queen Brandi Lanell Harrison places the National Watermelon Queen sash on 2015 National Watermelon Queen winner Emily Mae Brown. here, beating out six worthy competitors for the honor of representing the watermelon industry at home and abroad during the year ahead. She succeeds 2014 National Watermelon Queen Brandi Lanell Harrison of Florida.
Brown, a nursing student at Vincennes University, hails from Vincennes, IN, and will promote watermelon during in-store appearances, festivals, trade shows and congressional visits throughout 2015.
North Carolina Watermelon Queen Breanna Sutton Williams was chosen as first runner-up and Alabama Watermelon Queen Montana Skye Savage was named second runner-up. Mar-Del Watermelon Queen Shelby Lynn Hurley was honored with the Miss Jubilee Award.
