MFA honors award winners at Great Lakes expo
At the 2015 Great Lakes Floral Expo in Grand Rapids, MI, the Michigan Floral Association honored several industry professionals for their service and expertise, according to a news release.
Members of the Kennicott Bros. team: Chris McGahey, Steve Brown, Deb Durrant, Courtney Hill and Mike Anderson. Kennicott Bros. was nameded the 2015 MFA Supplier of the Year.
• Bob Frieseis the recipient of the Michigan Floral Association Lifetime Achievement Award.
• Kennicott Bros. Co., headquartered in Chicago, is the Michigan Floral Association Supplier of the Year.
• Jack Howard, executive vice president of sales at Teleflora in Los Angeles, is the recipient of the Michigan Floral Association National Service Award.
• Smith Floral & Greenhouse, Lansing, MI, is the MFA Retailer of the Year.
• Ric Gaunt, supplies manager at Mayesh Wholesale Florist in Romulus, MI, is the MFA Wholesale Employee of the Year.
• Pamela Prough, store manager at My Lady’s Florist in Westland, MI, is the MFA Retail Employee of the Year.
• Arlon Slagh, retired educator and docent at Frederick Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, MN, is the MFA Certified Florist of the Year.
• Angela Christi, manager and designer at Flowers from Nature’s Garden in Petoskey, MI, is the MFA Young Person of the Year.
• James Lutke, floral designer, Spring Lake, MI, is the recipient of the MFA Special Recognition Award.
• Shelley Adair, sales/design manager at Blumz … by JR Designs in Ferndale, MI, is the recipient of the MFA Past President’s Floriology Scholarship.
