Mark Goodman joins Save-A-Lot
Save-A-Lot, a leading U.S. grocery chain with 1,200 stores nationwide, has announced that Mark Goodman has been appointed executive vice president and chief operating officer.
"Mark is a dynamic, hands-on business executive with a track record of building and leading complex global, consumer-driven retail, food and financial services organizations," Bill Shaner, president and chief executive officer of Save-A-Lot, said in a statement. "Mark will bring new energy and insight to our executive team. He has a passion for retail and a deep respect for the demographic we serve. I believe he will be an excellent partner in guiding the future of Save-A-Lot to be even brighter than our past."
In his new position, Mr. Goodman will be responsible for leading and managing retail operations for Save-A-Lot's network of 1,200 stores. His initiatives will include overseeing the company's licensed retail groups, merchandising, vendor management and supply chain efforts.
Prior to joining Save-A-Lot, Mr. Goodman most recently held the position of executive vice president of marketing, membership and e-commerce for Wal- Mart/Sam's Club in Bentonville, AR. Prior to Wal-Mart, he was corporate vice president of U.S. strategy and operations at McDonald's Corp.
