To-Jo to launch updated brand positioning platform at PMA Fresh Summit
“We will be unveiling a new look and updated brand positioning platform for the company at the PMA Fresh Summit in October,” said Pete Wilder, marketing director for To-Jo Mushroom Inc. in Avondale, PA. “Our refreshed marketing strategy centers around a new theme that’s creative and intriguing while keeping deep roots to the farm and our owners, Tony and Joe D’Amico. But visitors will have to come to our booth — No. 1210 — to see it in person.”
Wilder explained that To-Jo is introducing its pre-cooked chopped mushroom line in this year’s New Product Showcase at the PMA Fresh Summit. The product is available in 10-ounce packs for retail and three-pound packs for foodservice operators.
“This is the perfect item to help reinforce and support the national trend on mushroom blendability,” he added.
“Mushrooms can be combined with a favorite protein to craft the perfect burger, taco or stir-fry,” said Wilder. “It’s a great way to refresh the plate and add flavor to the familiar. We are also showcasing our newly launched ‘Foraged Fresh’ specialty mushroom program, which will give our customers access to a wide variety of wild and foraged mushrooms on a weekly basis.”
To-Jo remains an industry leader in producing market-ready fresh mushrooms and delivers its mushrooms to retail stores, including major chains, and foodservice operations nationwide. Its core values have also remained the same throughout its history: passion for customer service; open and honest communication; maintaining a positive and fun atmosphere; treating everyone with respect; staying open to change; and always delivering the best quality mushrooms.
Wilder said that things have been very busy at the To-Jo facilities.
“We have recently brought on two new farms that have increased our annual production by over 200,000 square feet, allowing us to increase production by over 8 million pounds of product per year,” he noted. “These growing beds are dedicated to both brown and white mushrooms for our customers. This coincides perfectly with the completion of our newly expanded refrigerated receiving area, ensuring both adequate supply and increased quality through improved management of our cold chain.”
