J&K Fresh launches Fresh Look technology
J&K Fresh and its East Coast affiliate, J&K Fresh East, announced the launch of Freshlook, its new and innovative web-based track and trace technology.
Designed specifically for the importation of perishable cargo, Freshlook emphasizes the importance of visibility, statistical reporting and trade document compliance management.
"Our customers' business is so different from general commercial cargo they require a real-time solution that is built around their specific business needs," Larry Antonucci, president of J&K Fresh East, based in Lester, PA, said in a press release.
FreshLook provides in-depth visibility and status of Customs & Border Protection, Food & Drug Administration, U.S. Department of Agriculture and terminal availability. In order to enhance and improve productivity, the system's dashboard functionality enables the end-user to swap between global search and exception-based transactions to manage containerized and break bulk cargo such that communication, efficiencies, and cargo movements are maximized and the occurrence of delays and demurrage are minimized.
"Exception-based management drives productivity by focusing resources on the problem items, not the cargo that is flowing as it should," Antonucci said in the press release. "Time wasted is money lost."
The company said it has received a tremendous amount of positive feedback from initial client introduction and rollout.
Lynnette Keffer, president of J&K Fresh, based in Inglewood, CA, and matriarch of the "J&K Fresh" brand, said in the press release, "FreshLook represents our ongoing commitment and investment in building the brand into the pre-eminent customs broker and import coordination provider for anything fruit and produce. Our customers have been asking for a dedicated solution tailored to their specific needs, and we're very happy to be able to provide it."
There is no additional charge to J&K Fresh clients to use the application.
"The perishable cold chain is costly enough without being charged for something we feel is a by-product of our services," John Ercolani, vice president of operations at J&K Fresh East. "The unique nature of import coordination and facilitation for perishable cargo requires a solution that is accurate, reliable, flexible and easy to use, and that's Freshlook."
Established as Jones & Klink in 1987 in Los Angeles, the firm rebranded in 2001 as J&K Fresh. The company specializes in the clearance of fruit and produce and is recognized as a leading customs broker. In January 2011, the brand expanded to Philadelphia as J&K Fresh East and now provides national customs clearance coverage.
