TAMPA, FL — Industry veteran Andrew Scott has joined Coosemans Interproduce Divisions as director of sales and marketing.

Scott will be based in Atlanta and oversee Coosemans Interproduce Division's five operations in Tampa, FL, Miami, Dallas, Cleveland and San Francisco.

Scott was most recently vice president of sales and marketing with Superior Sales Inc. in Hudsonville, MI. Prior to that he spent seven years as sales and procurement manager for Atlanta’s General Produce Inc. and was with C.H. Robinson’s Atlanta and Denver branches for 15 years before that. Scott has been actively involved in leadership roles with the Southeast Produce Council for almost a decade and currently serves as that organization’s president.

Kane has operated Coosemans Tampa with partner and Coosemans Worldwide founder Danny Coosemans since 1994. Under Kane’s leadership, the business has steadily grown over the last two decades and doubled the size of its Tampa headquarters warehouse in the last six months. Over the past 10 years, Kane has brought the four additional operations along with Tampa under a single management company, Interproduce.

“This is a tremendous opportunity to move forward and make new contacts in the industry and explore new possibilities,” Scott said. “I’ve learned new things everywhere I’ve gone — that’s what interested me, that’s what keeps me going. I always want to be learning and getting better and Roy is giving me an opportunity to do that on a high level. My time at Superior was great but regrettably short and I’m grateful for the opportunity Randy Vande Guchte gave me there, just as I’m grateful to the Folds family at General Produce and the C.H. Robinson team — especially Brent Evans — that gave me my start.”

Scott will travel regularly between the Coosemans Interproduce Division's operations.

“I’m looking forward to learning our businesses in California, Texas, Ohio and Florida and increasing my knowledge and understanding in these areas,” Scott said. “Roy continues to build solid organizational structure around Interproduce to help manage our growth, including centralized Food Safety, H.R. and Accounting. This will lead to a lot of efficiencies and help us better manage our numerous locations.”
