Hy-Vee honors produce, floral managers
The helpful smiles Hy-Vee Produce Manager Darin Schleicher and Floral Department Manager Shannon Groepper are now featured on the side of Hy-Vee semi-trailers to recognize the exemplary level of service they provide to customers.
Schleicher’s and Groepper’s pictures were unveiled earlier this week during a celebration's outside their respective Hy-Vee stores. Schleicher has worked for the company since 1991, and Groepper has been with Hy-Vee since 2013.
Schleicher is often the first person customers see when they enter the store and uses that as an opportunity to create lasting connections. He knows many customers’ names, the names of their children and their school activities. Schleicher is a 2025 recipient of the Hy-Vee Legendary Customer Service Award, which recognizes exemplary achievement in providing service that exceeds customers’ expectations.
From assisting families planning a funeral to helping couples prepare for their wedding, Groepper said she enjoys the variety that comes with leading the floral department. Groepper is a 2025 recipient of the Hy-Vee Legendary Customer Service Award, which recognizes exemplary achievement in providing service that exceeds customers’ expectations.
“It’s a great big honor, overwhelming actually,” Groepper said. “This community has been great, the people have all been great.”

Hy-Vee first started featuring long-serving employees on semi-truck wraps in 1997, and it has since become a cherished tradition at the company.
