Higgins named as MasterTag’s new president
Andy Higgins was appointed in January as president of MasterTag, a leader in horticultural tagging and merchandising, according to a news release.
Higgins brings more than 25 years of relevant industry experience to his new role, having previously served as chief executive officer and president of Ecke Ranch in Encinitas, CA.
“We believe Andy will help excel MasterTag to our collective vision for the industry’s future,” said Rick Hughes, owner and chief executive officer at MasterTag in Montague, MI, in the release. “And I plan to be just as involved as I am today in working with Andy to lead our organization.”
Higgins has a B.S. in horticulture from Cal Poly State University and an MBA from UCLA.
During his tenure with Ecke Ranch, Higgins directed all aspects of its operations as well as long-range strategic planning.
“MasterTag is at the forefront of horticultural tagging and merchandising,” Higgins said in the release. “I am excited to be part of it and am looking forward to assisting the company in realizing its vision of being the premier marketing, design and merchandising solutions provider to the horticulture marketplace.”
Most recently, Higgins has been involved in consulting with organizations like AgVets, a greenhouse vegetable operation that aims to provide employment and empowerment to retuning military veterans.
Higgins said he is continuing his work with AgVets in an advisory role, with full support from Hughes.
