FPAA, FPFC keep networking fresh at SWIPE 2026
Some people love to network. Others find it awkward or even exhausting. No matter which type of produce industry pro you are, the Southwest International Produce Expo is designed to be a refreshing place to connect and conduct business. The event, better known as SWIPE, is redefining how trade show business gets done — by making it easy, laid-back and, most of all, fun.
An attendee favorite, Putt-A-Palooza is SWIPE’s answer to the 16th hole. It brings the entire event together for a boisterous afternoon of putting challenges, cold beverages and prize-packed games. Whether you golf or not, you’re invited to swing by, sip on something good and compete for prizes ranging from Bluetooth headsets to bottles of top-shelf spirits. It's casual, energetic and packed with personality — just like the produce business itself.
Putt-A-Palooza is a great way for all SWIPE attendees to come together and takes place on the afternoon of Jan. 22, during the SWIPE Desert Classic, a fun tournament co-hosted by the FPAA and the Fresh Produce & Floral Council. Cheer on your favorite golfing friends, interact with the teams as they take a swing by the Putt-A-Palooza course, and have fun meeting other attendees.
For attendees ready to swap the trade show buzz for fresh air and marksmanship, the SWIPE Desert Clay Shootout at Tucson Trap and Skeet Club offers a laid-back setting to unwind and connect with fellow attendees. Happening on Saturday, Jan. 24, this event is part of SWIPE’s stay-and-play programming, which also includes a fun pickleball tournament and a border tour to some of the local warehouses that handle fresh produce.
The smaller group Saturday events, like the Desert Clay Shootout, are for those that want to stay and enjoy the SWIPE desert vibes for just a little longer. It’s not about hitting every clay pigeon. It’s about hitting it off with the people who matter to your business.
“At SWIPE, strong relationships are built on more than business cards. It’s about shared experiences that lead to meaningful business relationships,” said FPAA President Lance Jungmeyer. “Whether it’s on the green or at the range, we create moments that spark opportunities for fresh partnerships.”
These events aren’t just fun — they provide a relaxed space for industry pros to build trust that drives deals. Whether you're a grower, shipper, retailer or buyer, SWIPE’s casual networking environment is where business relationships begin — or deepen.
From educational sessions and informal receptions to the luxurious retreat-style environment of the luxurious JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa in Tucson, everyone can network their own way at SWIPE. It’s happening Jan. 22-24.
