USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards has recognized The Fresh Market as the Best Supermarket in America for 2021. A panel of 10Best local experts and contributors nominated their favorite American supermarkets based on value, selection and service. The other top 10 winners are Hy-Vee, Lidl, Market Basket, ALDI, Stew Leonard's, Publix, Sprouts Farmers Market, Wegmans Food Markets and Trader Joe's.

USDA restricts seven PACA violators

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has imposed sanctions on seven produce businesses for failing to meet contractual obligations to the sellers of produce they purchased and for failing to pay reparation awards issued under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act. These sanctions include suspending the businesses’ PACA licenses and barring the principal operators from engaging in PACA-licensed business or other activities without USDA approval.
