Gold Cup Fresh continues on fast-track in the produce industry
John Lazopoulos, Jr., vice president of sales and marketing for Gold Cup Fresh, said the company sells only fruit from its partners; La Calera in Peru, and San Miguel, which has operations in Argentina and other offshore nations. It also markets citrus from its own farms in Peru, Argentina, Uruguay and South Africa.
“We will be presenting our line of fresh produce at our booth, No. 106, at the New York Produce Show,” said Lazopoulos. “The event is extremely important to Gold Cup Fresh and we look forward to being there to present our programs of high-quality produce including citrus, grapes, avocados and more. The show’s venue is perfect, and it draws people from far and wide at a time of year when it’s great to be in New York City.”
Gold Cup Fresh’s growing-partners are long-established producers who are known for the high-quality fruits they produce. These partnerships are solidly supporting Gold Cup Fresh’s fast-track across the United States. It markets from its North American offices in Swedesboro, NJ, and Miami, FL. Because of the high quality of its products, and its outstanding service abilities, the company’s growth has remained at near staggering figures, with no signs of slowing down.
“Our grape programs include all IFG varieties: Sweet Globe, Sweet Celebration, Jack Salute and some Cotton Candy,” explained Lazopoulos. “We started packing grapes in Peru at the end of September, and the program is in full swing.”
In its conventional grape line Gold Cup Fresh offers Crimsons, Sugra Ones/Superiors and Red Globes. Its grape programs are produced at one of three Peruvian farms — Piura, Chepen and Ica.
It’s been good weather for Peruvian grapes this year,” noted Lazopoulos. “We expect great volumes and quality. Our Gold Cup branded grapes are carried by major retailers including major chain retailers and big-box stores across the country.”
Gold Cup Fresh’s grape programs will continue through the first week of February, with the Ica farms producing the last of them.
“Gold Cup Fresh also has outstanding citrus programs,” said Lazopoulos. “The citrus line consists of lemons, mandarins, clementines, navels and numerous other varieties.”
He added that the company’s partnership with San Miguel, which commenced in June, has enabled the company to make a unique entrance into the avocado category.
While the company’s primary focus is the retail sector, it also services wholesalers in the primary produce markets in the country, who in turn sell to foodservice and other categories.
“We receive direct imports — charter and containers — for our program retailers in Houston, Savannah, Los Angeles, Miami and Philadelphia/New Jersey,” added Lazopoulos.
Key Gold Cup Fresh team members will be manning its booth at the New York Produce Show on the trade show floor on Dec. 12.
Lazopoulos said visitors to the show are invited to stop by the company’s booth to learn about the great ways Gold Cup Fresh can help to increase their businesses.
