DNE World Fruit promoting strong summer citrus program at NEPC Expo
DNE World Fruit LLC distributes summer citrus throughout the United States and some Caribbean countries. Kathy Hearl, marketing promotions manager for the Fort Pierce, FL-based company said that during the New England Produce Council Produce & Floral Expo 2014 at the Hyatt Regency Newport Hotel & Spa on Sept. 11, DNE World Fruit will be promoting its line of summer citrus at Booth No. 308.
“The summer citrus season kicked off in late May and will run through October,” said Hearl. “DNE is currently promoting mandarins, navels, and midknights. We will also be highlighting the upcoming Florida program, which will begin in October. We invite all visitors to stop by our booth at the expo and visit with one of our sales representatives.”
DNE World Fruit is the largest marketer of fresh Florida citrus and is one of the leading citrus marketers in the world. Being vertically integrated; a citrus grower, packer and marketer all under one roof enables the company to best understand and meet the demands of the trade.
Offering a year-round supply of citrus, DNE markets products from Florida as well as imported citrus from Australia, South Africa, Spain, Chile, Morocco, Peru, Uruguay and Mexico. With an outstanding line of fresh, quality citrus year-round, DNE gives their customers the opportunity to grow their citrus category sales and profits.
“DNE World Fruit continues to lead the citrus industry by continually researching the development of improved citrus varieties, designing new retail packaging and sourcing the highest quality citrus from around the world,” Hearl pointed out. “In the area of food safety, quality and security, regardless where fresh citrus is grown, DNE maintains strict food-safety compliance procedures with traceability from our packing houses to grocery warehouses.”
Hearl added that this fall Bernard Egan & Co., parent company of DNE World Fruit LLC, is celebrating 100 years of success as a family-owned and operated business growing and marketing fresh citrus.
“The New England Produce Council Expo provides us with an opportunity to meet face to face with our loyal retailers and wholesale partners to discuss and share some ideas on our current Summer Citrus program as well as our upcoming Florida program,” she continued. “We look forward to another great NEPC expo this year.”
