Director of marketing leaves Splendid
Stephen Kaczor announced Aug. 18 that he has left his position as director of marketing for Burlingame, CA-based Splendid Products, a shipper of citrus and a distributor of tropical fruit such as mangos and limes.
The company handles a variety of fruits and vegetables.
Mr. Kaczor, who lives in Washington state with his wife, Michelle, and four children, said that the travel required in his role became a scheduling problem for him and his wife, who have an 11-month-old baby. The job took him on the road three or four times a month, often for four days at a time, he said.
Mr. Kaczor's wife is a top financial adviser for the Raymond James investment firm, and he said that he has become her assistant in her office, which is reached by ferryboat. He works at the office in the mornings and meets his wife at the dock "where we hand off the baby" as she heads on to the office, he said.
Mr. Kaczor came to Splendid a year ago following a nine-year stint as marketing director with Nogales, AZ-based Diazteca. Mr. Kaczor said that he is proud to have been instrumental in setting up a deal in Brazil for Splendid Products with Interfruta, and he described Splendid Products as a great place to work.
Larry Nienkerk, manager and co-owner of Splendid Products, credited Mr. Kaczor with helping Splendid develop a marketing strategy, and he said that he is pleased with the results of that. Mr. Nienkerk anticipates doing more work with Mr. Kaczor in the future.
