Customer satisfaction forms solid bedrock at Capital Logistics
When Capital Logistics LLC opened its doors for business, it did so based upon important guiding principles.
“We don’t want to change our dedication to good customer service,” said Chief Operating Officer Michael Feig. “We’re dedicated to refrigerated shipment. We’re dedicated to the produce industry. We’re not trying to be everything to everybody.”
Capital Logistics, headquartered in White Plains, NY, was founded in 2009 by Feig and his business partner Jeff Gerson, who is the company’s chief executive officer. Gerson previously owned a logistics company, and Feig had a financial background.
“We started from the ground up,” Feig told The Produce News.
Today, the company is staffed by 15 people. Future company growth, he added, will always be based upon customer confidence and the ability to deliver exceptional service.
Ninety percent of the broker’s business involves the transport of fresh produce, and Feig said Capital Logistics’ customers range from the small mom-and-pop operations to large businesses.
“We handle companies big and small,” he said. “We run the gamut.”
Asked what distinguishes Capital Logistics from the competition, Feig said, “We do haul the tougher stuff. We don’t shy away from those items. We take pride in that.”
Capital Logistics handles transport of customer loads throughout the lower 48 states, picking up or delivering to any location, including ports.
“We can go everywhere we are needed especially if there is surge capacity. Employees have access 24/7,” Feig stated, adding that employees have full electronic access to monitor load progress. “We can cover loads on weekends and are available seven days a week. We do a lot of teamwork.”
Because Capital Logistics is a non-asset-based company, it works diligently with diverse trucking companies throughout the country to ensure the highest level of service and reliability.
“We have a great carrier base,” Feig said. “We build those national relationships. We vet the carriers. This gives customers confidence.”
