Coliman’s Nogales office enters second winter deal
RIO RICO, AZ — Entering its second season in the Nogales area is a relatively new office of Coliman Pacific Corp.
Juan Carlos Chavez heads the office and works in sales with Daniel (Danny) Lopez. Diana Rangel provides support in the office, which opened in October 2013.
Coliman is based in Hermosillo, Sonora.
Danny Lopez and Juan Carlos Chavez at Coliman's Rio Rico, AZ, office. Its head office in the United States is in Chandler, AZ, which is on the south side of suburban Phoenix. The Coliman Group was founded in 1963. Coliman enjoys sales in the United States, Mexico and Canada, as well as to Costa Rica, Spain, France, England, South Korea, Japan, China, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Lopez said Coliman employs 4,000 people in Mexico.
An aspect of the Rio Rico office that largely differentiates it from its Nogales-area competitors is the handling of tropical fruits such as bananas and papayas. The Chandler warehouse has banana-ripening facilities. “One of our fortes is Persian limes,” Lopez said.
In Rio Rico, Coliman has a clean, modern warehouse and office facilities rented within Klondike Cold Storage. This site is used for distribution and cross docking.
Chavez said Coliman is vertically integrated, owning its own farms, production and even its own plastic factory to manufacture packaging.
