Spring varieties available from Bee Sweet Citrus
At the height of California’s citrus domestic season, Bee Sweet Citrus touts an ample supply of grapefruit, lemons and Navel oranges as part of its diverse citrus line.
“Harvest of our D3 (desert region) grapefruit will be wrapping up soon, and we’ll begin to move into the Central Valley (D1) once that’s done,” said Bee Sweet Citrus Director of Harvesting and Grower Relations Randy Stucky. “The fruit is showing good size and excellent quality.”
As the company’s grapefruit harvest phases out of California’s desert region, Bee Sweet’s Navel oranges and lemons are being harvested out of the Central Valley (D1). Despite recent storms, the company reports that the company’s lemon availability remains intact.
“The amount of rain we’ve received has definitely been challenging, but we’re fortunate to harvest lemons throughout different regions of the valley,” said Stucky. “This year, size is up and quality has been good. Our volume is also up — guaranteeing plenty of lemon availability throughout the summer months.”
Bee Sweet’s Navel oranges are currently showing full color and an excellent balance of acid and sugar, resulting in delicious fruit. They will be available until the end of the season.
In addition to the varieties noted above, Bee Sweet Citrus also has Blood oranges, Meyer lemons and Mandarins available for its consumers. All varieties are available in bag and bulk options.
