Catania Worldwide and Stellar Distributing raising their stakes in limes this year
Catania Worldwide and Stellar Distributing expect to ship 40 percent more limes this year.
Catania Worldwide, under the leadership of Paul Catania, procures limes from various regions in Mexico, such as Veracruz, Michoacan, Atotonilco, Martinez and Manzanillo.

ML Catania Mexico has been handling the Mexican lime deal for 25 years. Paul Catania, a third-generation produce owner, pioneered the operation and has grown it with Stellar Distributing to its current year-round availability.
“Pulling from multiple regions allows us to avoid quality issues and deliver trouble-free produce to retailers,” said Stellar Distributing Sales Manager Kurt Capellutti. “That’s exactly why business is growing.”
The lime operation has been building for years. Currently, Catania and Stellar ship out of New Jersey, Central California, Toronto and two locations in Texas.
The Toronto and New Jersey locations enable them to quickly reach eastern Canada and the U.S. East Coast. The Texas and California shipping points deliver limes to the rest of the United States easily.
In addition to the multiple shipping points, Capellutti said Catania/Stellar are conscientious of getting their limes out of Mexico and into Texas quickly. Their expediting process on the front end adds to the shelf life of the limes at retail.
