BC Hot House is heating things up at Frieda's
Frieda's Inc. in Los Angeles has announced its exclusive marketing agreement with BC Hot House Foods Inc. in Vancouver, BC, producers of premium products grown indoors in a hydroponic, climate-controlled environment.
Born in greenhouses resembling exclusive high-tech spas for plants, Friedas newest crop of produce receives natural sunlight, ventilation, plant nutrition and carbon dioxide exactly when it wants it.
Dawn Gray, vice president of sales and marketing for BC Hot House, said, "We approached Friedas, as they are regarded as the premier marketer of specialties and specialty commodity products. We see our relationship with Friedas as a win-win-win (including our clients). Friedas has been to visit our growers, has tasted the products and were ready to have a fabulous season."
Friedas will be exclusively handling all sales and marketing of the following BC Hot House-grown products: mini cucumbers, which are smaller, crunchier versions of the long English cucumber; Legacy heirloom tomatoes, hand-picked and available in a diverse array of sizes, shapes, flavors and textures; Pyro-Pepps, premium chili peppers ranging in scoville units from 35,000 to 60,000; and Sweetooth peppers, flavorful, elongated peppers offering a surprising sweetness.
In the six years that I have been with the company, many things have changed. Our partnership with BC Hot House really demonstrates how Friedas has changed our business model to better serve our clients, said Tristan Millar, national accounts manager at Friedas. But one thing that has not changed is the importance of good taste. The fabulous flavors of these products are what really sold us.
The season has begun on these exciting new products which will be available from Friedas Los Alamitos, CA, warehouse from now through November. Friedas mini cucumbers, Legacy heirloom tomatoes, Pryo-Pepps and Sweetooth peppers are available in both bulk and pre-packed options.
