Trade Show Spotlight: IFTF in its 10th year
Next month, from Nov. 6-8, Holland will be the host country of the IFTF trade event for the world’s floriculture industry.
IFTF will be held again at Expo Haarlemmermeer in Vijfhuizen, almost next door to its neighbor Schiphol, Amsterdam’s International Airport. Despite the numerous obstacles faced by many other industries, IFTF is celebrating its 10th edition and still growing.
The world’s economic growth has been slowing down since last year and is obviously affecting the flower industry as well. As with the normal upward and downward economical trends which happen every seven to nine years, this year is no different.
But there are factors present now — in fact quite a few — compared to what we ‘ve seen in the traditional past, that are influencing the economic development waves this time.
The trade war between China and United States, the Brexit threat, the war (threats) in the Middle East, to name a few, make it all more complicated and more difficult to predict how the business cycle will develop. However the flower industry has proven its resilience over and over again to endure with enormous adaptability. It is therefore without doubt that this time, the industry will weather any difficulty and continue growing as always.
It’s a great opportunity for everybody in the international flower business to have one of the world’s biggest and most important events coming up soon — a place under one roof, where all current threats and opportunities can be discussed directly, face to face, in the most basic and effective way.
