Third-annual Four Seasons Fresh Fest focuses on innovation and community
MANHEIM, PA – The weather may have been gray and rainy here in central Pennsylvania, but the third annual Four Seasons Fresh Fest shined through with its educational session and trade show, which drew approximately 200 attendees.
The event kicked off May 12 with an opening reception at The Landis Museum, where attendants ate, drank and socialized, followed by the trade show held May 13 at The Junction Center. Before the trade show, featured speakers Greg Davidson Laszakovits and Pamela Riemenschneider imparted their expertise during separate presentations.
Greg Davidson Laszakovits spoke on the topic of "Cultivating Success Across Generations" by touching on the theory of relativity. Drawing from his extensive experience in insight leadership coaching, he explored how multi-generational teams in the work place can thrive by taking the time to understand each other’s expectations, motivations and communication styles. A business can truly flourish when communication is broken down for every generation to understand.
Riemenschneider spoke on the topic of "Adapt & Thrive: Innovation in Fresh Grocery" discussing the meaning of innovation in the produce industry. As a respected journalist and editor specializing in produce, Riemenschneider shared insights how grocery shopping has changed to fit the needs of consumers over the past several years. She observed that what stood out was how each retail store, from large corporations like Walmart to small shops, took action after figuring out who their consumers are and what their needs may be. This can include knowing the type of people that frequently shop in-store, leading to what to keep in tock to advancing technologies like electric shelf labels, coupon programs and shopping apps.
There were also food trucks of different varieties available for lunch as the trade show went into full swing. The exhibitors braved the storm, displaying their tables with the best of their produce, herbs, meat and dairy.
"We couldn't be more grateful for all the support and engagement from our fantastic customer, supplier and team-member attendees at Fresh Fest 2025: Independent Retailer Trade Show & Conference," said Vice President and General Manager Jon Steffy. "The event brings decision-makers from the buy-side and supply-side together in a unique setting that meant for learning, relationship-building and growth. Independent retailer and natural food store owners, managers and buyers are very busy and don't always have the time to travel to large trade shows or tour major growing regions in person. Talking together in person is the next best thing! Fresh Fest allows for that direct connection between producers and the retailers whom Four Seasons Produce serves as a supply chain partner. It's all about Helping Others Succeed in Fresh."
