Organic Grower Summit closes with a bang
The closing day of the Organic Grower Summit on Dec. 1, 2022 was a whirlwind of activity and celebration. A morning full of educational sessions provided insight into the growth, opportunities and future of CEA production while industry leaders also discussed the softening demand for organics and what growers can do.
The morning sessions were highlighted by a keynote presentation of panelists including Tom Nunes V of The Nunes Co., Michael DuPuis of Divine Flavor and Brie Reiter Smith of Driscoll's having a roundtable discussion on the state of organic growing moderated by Dave Puglia of Western Growers.
Jeff Huckaby, president and CEO of Grimmway Farms, was awarded Grower of the Year Award and provided great insight into his career and how he navigated organic farming in the 90s.
The exhibition floor was packed with attendees and exhibitors for a second day in a row. Finally, the summit came to a close with a happy hour provided by Vitalis Organic Seed.
