NEPC hosts golf tournament

After rescheduling its golf tournament from July due to COVID-19 restrictions, the New England Produce Council recently held its event at the Indian Pond Country Club in Kingston MA. The sunny skies, warm air and occasional cool breeze provided the perfect backdrop for the NEPC golf tournament, but it was the smiling faces of the NEPC members and guests that truly made the day spectacular.

The much-needed, face-to-face encounter with produce associates made everyone appreciate the day. With the current pandemic still in full force, the golf committee took precautions by providing hand sanitizer and masks in each goodie bag, courtesy of Domex SuperFresh Growers, the tournament sponsor.

At the conclusion of golf, a barbecue buffet was served with individually wrapped burgers, dogs and BBQ chicken sandwiches.

NEPC President Tom Murray, who is vice president of produce and floral at Roche Bros., thanked the group for attending and announced the following foursomes as tournament winners: Aris Pappas, Barry Paul, Jamie Unglesbee and Keegan Boone in first place; Bo Lynch, Brian Gibbons, Ken Reagan and Chris Pungitory in second place; and Bryan Ricciardi, Bobby McPhail, Kris McKenna and Mike Mastracola in third place.

Murray also recognized the golf committee for their time and efforts: Brian Maguire of JOH, Lauren Mordasky of RPE Spuds and Michael Strock of S. Strock & Co. Inc.
