Mint Juleps and so much more at the NEPC Dinner Dance-Kentucky Derby edition
BOSTON – The New England Produce Council was off to the races March 22 at its annual Dinner Dance Gala, here, which this year embraced a Kentucky Derby theme. Many of the 285 attendees dressed for the occasion, making this an especially festive event and truly a night to remember.
“What an incredible evening we had at the NEPC Dinner Dance Gala — Kentucky Derby edition,” said NEPC Executive Director Laura Sullivan. “It was heartwarming to see so many guests fully embracing the theme with their fabulous attire.”
Among the highlights of the evening was a Best Hat contest. Nancy D’Ottavio of M. D’Ottavio Produce captured top honors, followed by Cassandra Mitchell and Susan Higgins in second and third place, respectively.
For the men, Brandon Bentley of NatureSweet was the “top hat,” with Craig Minichiello and Mike D’Ottavio coming in a close second and third place.
Sullivan said the cocktail hour balloon raffle was a “huge hit” and added to the excitement of the evening, as did the delicious dinner, sundae bar and lively music provided by the band Men In Black.
Finally, the NEPC featured a sock drive again this year with donations benefiting Friends of Boston’s Homeless.
“A heartfelt thank you to all of our generous sponsors,” said Sullivan. “Your continued support plays a huge role in making this event such a success. We look forward to even more unforgettable moments next year!
