
FPFC pulls off the Heist of the year!
PASADENA, CA — The Fresh Produce & Floral Council held the Heist, Casino Night on Saturday Feb. 4 at the Langham Huntington Hotel, here.
Among the attendees were retailers from Albertsons, Grocery Outlet, Gaju Markets, Ralphs, Smart & Final and Stater Bros. Markets.
The evening began with a VIP reception for the FPFC board of directors, sponsors, planning committee and retailers attending the event. The general reception hosted a 360-degree photo booth and specialty drinks.
The traditional programming of this evening is to highlight the incoming FPFC board of directors and thank those who are retiring from the board for their service. This year, the Dinner Dance Committee decided to do something different and incorporate the FPFC’s heritage, by honoring the past chairs of the FPFC “Ocean’s 58”.
Past chairs in attendance included Andrew Givens of Westlake Produce Co., Brad Martin of Perimeter Sales & Merchandising, Brian Cook of Local Bounti, Chris Puentes of Interfresh, Connie Stukenberg of CA Grown, Dale Liefer, Jack Gyben, Jan DeLyser of the California Avocado Commission, Kori Martin of Oppy, Liane Mast, Marty Craner of B&C Fresh Sales, Marvin Quebec of Quebec Distributing Co., Pat McDowell of Perimeter Sales & Merchandising, Patty Knoll of PK Packaging, Rick Moreno, Roger Schroeder, and Sean McClure of Professional Produce.
The Heist also included a raffle, with the grand price of $10,000 going to Jennie McCole of Lipman Family Farms.
After dinner concluded, guests moved to the dance floor and the gaming tables to try their luck at Roulette, Craps, Black Jack, and Texas Hold ‘Em.
The next Fresh Produce & Floral Council event will be a membership luncheon March 22 at the Sheraton Cerritos in Cerritos, CA, where the 2022 FPFC Apprentice Class with be honored with a special graduation.
