Bozzuto's Independent Retailer Conference springs into action
Bozzuto's Inc., a leading food distributor serving the Northeast and mid-Atlantic states, hosted its annual Independent Retailer Conference April 20-21 at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, CT.
The event provided an opportunity to re-connect the supplier-retailer community and impart thanks for the essential services these valued professionals have provided. With the latest products and deals on full display, the food show generated elevated interest in all facets of the business, including perishables, grocery, frozen, dairy, specialty, non-foods/general merchandise, health and beauty care and trade services.
Following Centers for Disease Control and Foxwoods regulations for gatherings, numerous precautions were in place for the show: one-way, one-sided aisles; engagement zone floor decals to assist with proper physical distancing; hand sanitizing stations; and Plexi-glass protective barriers and eight-foot-high separation drapes at all booths.
"We are so pleased with the level of interest our suppliers and retail partners have expressed in this year's food show," said Steve Heggelke, Bozzuto's Inc.'s executive vice president of merchandising and procurement. "This feels like the beginning of the return to normalcy, and there is nothing more important or valuable than bringing our friends, families and colleagues together again."
The conference hosted over 300 suppliers on the showroom floor, and offered the opportunity to learn about the latest industry trends and take advantage of special offers and new products for the fall season.
Bozzuto's, headquartered in Cheshire, CT, is long known for its philanthropic efforts in the community; the company has longstanding relationships with many charitable organizations and provides needed food and supplies to various local food banks throughout the year. All product samples featured at this year's show were donated to CT Food Bank.
