On Sept. 15, scores of bowlers and their families from the produce industry took part in the Fresh Produce & Floral Council’s 38th annual Bowling Tournament at BowlMor Lanes in Southern California. It is one of the FPFC’s longest-running social events.

More than 145 produce professionals teed off at the 26th annual Fresh Produce & Floral Council Southern California Golf Tournament on a sweltering Wednesday, Aug. 22, at the Tustin Ranch Golf Club in Tustin, CA.
Golfers showed up early to test their skills at the putting contest held before the 10 a.m. tee time. They also enjoyed a continental breakfast on the patio — and a Mimosa or Bloody Mary at the Welcome Bar.

Utilizing Disney’s California Adventure theme park as a drawing card for a preliminary event the night before, the Fresh Produce & Floral Council’s Southern California Expo on Tuesday, July 17, brought out a record crowd of about 1,600 attendees. The booth count topped 175 as a plethora of buyers and in-store produce and foodservice personnel navigated the confines of the Disneyland Hotel Convention Center during the five hours of floor time.

On June 13, the Fresh Produce & Floral Council held its regular bi-monthly membership luncheon meeting at the Sheraton Hotel in Cerritos, CA. About 270 people were in attendance, many to congratulate Master of Ceremonies Sheryl Salazar, who was recently appointed produce sales manager of the Albertsons/Vons banner. Salazar is the first women to wear the produce sales manager title at Albertsons.

Andrew Zimmern, culinary expert, American television personality, chef, food writer and teacher, will present the keynote address at the Fresh Produce & Floral Council’s Southern California Expo July 17 at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, CA.

On Friday, May 18, about 80 members of the Fresh Produce & Floral Council enjoyed perfect weather and fabulous views as they worked their way around the course at Wente Vineyards. Designed by golfing great Greg Norman, the 18-hole championship course is a picturesque 7,181-yard, par-72 golf course tucked away in the scenic Livermore Valley, 50 minutes east of San Francisco.

A bi-monthly membership luncheon meeting of the Fresh Produce & Floral Council took place on Wednesday, May 2, at the Sheraton Hotel in Cerritos, CA. A couple of hundred guests were treated to an entertaining keynote presentation by Bill Farmer, who has been the voice actor of the Disney character Goofy for the past 30 years.

Members of the Fresh Produce & Floral Council converged on the Alameda County Fairgrounds on Wednesday, April 18, for the annual Northern California Expo. Scores of exhibitors and hundreds of attendees spent the day networking and viewing the produce and floral sectors.

On Tuesday evening, April 17, exhibitors, attendees and guests kicked off the 2018 Fresh Produce & Floral Council Northern California Expo with a reception held the night before the event at the Doubletree Inn in Pleasanton, CA. A couple of hundreds industry members – mostly exhibitors – relaxed after spending several hours setting up their respective booths.

About 550 Fresh Produce & Floral Council members, including guests and kids, enjoyed the group’s annual Day at the Races at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, CA, on Saturday, March 24. The FPFC group takes over a large area on the infield for the day of fun, socializing, horse racing and, of course, betting. It has become the FPFC’s family event of the year.
