ARCADIA, CA — More than 400 Fresh Produce & Floral Council members, including family and guests, enjoyed the group’s annual Day at the Races at Santa Anita Park, here, on Saturday, March 30. The FPFC group took over a large portion of the infield for an afternoon of fun and socializing, while trying to win an extra few dollars by betting on the ponies.

Steve Junqueiro, former longtime retail executive with Save Mart Supermarkets, served as the keynote speaker at the Fresh Produce & Floral Council Feb. 20 membership luncheon in Pleasanton, CA. He said this is a great time to be in fresh produce as retailers are looking for a differentiator and the produce department can clearly be that difference maker.

The Fresh Produce & Floral Council featured a Business Tool Kit panel at its February luncheon in Southern California. A handful of experts gave advice on taxes, insurance, banking, human resources and PACA. ANAHEIM, CA — The Fresh Produce & Floral Council’s annual dinner dance was held Saturday, Jan. 26 at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, here, where the council’s 2019 slate of officers was installed. More than 500 produce professionals attended the festivities at this renowned Southern California resort destination, with the theme of the evening being “A Greek Odyssey.”
On Jan. 26, the industry will gather for “A Greek Odyssey,” the 2019 Fresh Produce & Floral Council Dinner Dance. A highlight of the evening will be the council’s formal introduction of the 2019 board of directors.

More than 250 members and guests attended the event, which featured a moving keynote address by Natalie Grumet, a survivor of both cancer and the horrific Las Vegas mass shooting of a year ago.
