Retail tour kicks off 2018 CPMA convention
VANCOUVER -- Select attendees of the 2018 Canadian Produce Marketing Association convention got a feel for the retail scene in this picturesque harbor city via a tour to three of the most popular retail destinations for fresh produce.
On the morning of April 24, tour attendees boarded two trollies and headed to Loblaw's City Market, a midsized location that offered the most tradition retail experience of the three stops.
The tour then headed to the Granville Island Market, where vendors of all types operate in a common market area. Here, mainstream and exotic produce is available, along with a multitude of seafood, meat, cheese and flower stalls.
After departing Granville Island, the tour made its final stop at a T&T Market in Chinatown, where Asian specialty produce takes center stage, complemented by some mainstream offerings.
