The Canadian Produce Marketing Association is advocating for fresh produce industry priorities to be front and center in the federal election campaign. Canadians will go to the polls on April 28.

Mexico exports 22.7 million boxes of table grapes annually, while 4.6 million boxes are sold in the national market. Those numbers have been growing exponentially as Mexican grapes have become highly in demand among consumers.

Ocean Mist Farms, a leading grower and shipper of fresh artichokes, officially kicked off its spring season. With its annual migration north complete, the company’s transition to its spring-summer growing region — in Castroville and Salinas Valley, CA — is in full production.

Raley’s and Washington-based FirstFruits Farms donated 30,000 pounds of fresh apples to the Food Bank for Monterey County. This generous contribution was made possible by Raley’s customers who purchased select apples during January and February as part of a give-back initiative.
