Produce Pay launches marketplace featuring Blue Book scores

Produce Pay, a leading financing solution for growers and distributors of fresh produce, has launched Produce Pay Marketplace, where buyers and sellers can complete real-time trades of perishable agricultural products through an online marketplace.

As part of the launch, Produce Pay is now a registered developer with Blue Book Services Inc.

“Blue Book is the gold standard for sellers and buyers of fresh produce,” Steve Poindexter, chief commercial officer of Produce Pay Inc., added in the press release.

The integration of Blue Book Scores with the Produce Pay Marketplace is a useful complement to the suite of content, analytics and tools now available via Blue Book Online Services.”

Borquez Schwarzbeck was born and raised in northwestern Mexico and brings over 10 years experience in the fresh-produce industry. After growing up in his family farm, Campos Borquez, a premiere supplier of fresh asparagus and grapes to the United States and Canada, he went on to work for the Giumarra Cos., managing grower relations in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and the United States. He returned to the family farm as chief financial officer and later completed an MBA at Cornell University. It was during his time at Cornell that Produce Pay was founded and launched.

Poindexter has over 30 years of experience in the fresh produce industry. Prior to Produce Pay, he was vice president of sales for Sun World, vice president of sales and marketing for Ballantine Produce, and was partner in Crown Jewels Marketing. During his career, he has been involved with the Produce Marketing Association, the United Fresh Produce Association, the California Avocado Commission, the California Strawberry Commission and the California Tree Fruit Agreement. He has worked extensively with growers in Mexico, Chile and the United States.
