Metro Inc. announced that after more than 12 years with the company, François Thibault, executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer, has decided to retire next spring.

The National Watermelon Promotion Board has named the winners of its annual Retail Merchandising Contest, which drew over 140 entries from retail chains, independent retailers and commissaries across the U.S. and Canada. 

Tops has expanded its Instacart services to encompass pickup to round out its New York state offerings. This added convenience will allow shoppers to have their weekly groceries available for pickup at their local Tops store in addition to its home delivery option.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture imposed sanctions on four produce businesses for failing to meet contractual obligations to the sellers of produce they purchased and failing to pay reparation awards issued under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act.

Associated Wholesale Grocers Inc. announced the appointment of John Cosentino to fill an open position on the company’s board of directors. Cosentino is an owner and the vice president of Cosentino Group Inc.
