Pinto Bros., a third-generation family business and one of the original occupants of the Philadelphia Wholesale Produce Market, is a reliable source customers turn to for their produce needs.

“We strive to meet the demands of restaurants, retail and wholesale clients through quality products and timely service,” said Todd Penza, a salesman of the family-owned company. “As a family-owned business, we provide a variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables through important relationships with local growers. Our family has been in the business for three generations and continues to grow as the produce industry is ever-changing.”

With summer approaching, it represents a busy time for the company, and being in Philadelphia just makes it that much better.

“We are excited to get back to the local season this summer,” Penza said. “We love working in this area. We are close to many great customers and the market is the best place to source fresh produce from.”

Since coming to the market, Pinto Bros.’ storage space has increased which has helped it increase the amount of items the company can offer customers, and the efficiencies of the temperature-control market has made the produce quality even better.

Pinto Bros. consists of six different coolers and each one’s temperature is regulated daily to ensure maximum shelf life.

“Our customers are looking for quick responses to questions and good quality delivered just as quickly,” Penza said. “Through our temperature monitored state-of-the-art facility, we are able to keep from breaking the cold chain. This is vital to keeping products fresh.”
