Remembering Greenfield Fresh’s Andrew Dewsnup

Andrew Dewsnup, who served as president of Greenfield Fresh, the San Francisco Bay area produce brokerage he founded in 2002, died at the age of 60.

Andrew Dewsnup“He had recently been diagnosed with esophageal cancer and was anticipating 100 percent recovery, so we are all are mourning this untimely loss,” said Royce Greenfield, sales manager for Greenfield Fresh. “Andrew’s passing is a reminder to all of us to take time to enjoy each and every day, and always appreciate those who enrich us, and make our lives meaningful.”

Mr. Dewsnup had worked in the produce industry for more than three decades, specializing in servicing the San Francisco Bay area and Central Valley, and was beloved by his customers.

“It was always Andrew’s dream to begin a produce brokerage of his own, and in 2002 he accomplished that,” Greenfield said. “Over the years, Andrew built an amazing and cherished relationship with Botsford and Goodfellow.”

For those who knew Mr. Dewsnup, he always worked hard, gave sound advice, and built a reputation for himself and his company of honesty and excellence.

His Greenfield family includes Cathy, his wife of 30 years; Louie Andrighetto, his business partner who believed in him all those years ago; and Greenfield, Dale Kobata and Gary Atkison.

“A caring and trustworthy advisor, he leaves lifelong friendships and relationships that he has enjoyed since starting his produce career in 1988,” Greenfield said. “As a company, Greenfield Fresh will look to honor Andrew’s legacy by being committed to providing outstanding service to our business partners.”
