Rebecca Meyers joins Gee Whiz

Gee Whiz has hired Rebecca Meyers as its eastern regional account manager.

To further support its branded identity and to increase the production of its quality fruit, the company is focused on its mission to produce the best eating fruit in the world. It said every team member has a passion for the quality of Gee Whiz fruit. To execute its mission, the hiring of an eastern regional account manager is essential to the growth of the Gee Whiz brand.

“We are excited to have Rebecca join the Gee Whiz family," said Lee Arthur, president of Gee Whiz. "Rebecca’s experience in both sales and marketing makes her a vital part of our sales team and will be part of our growing success going forward. As we bring our newest apple variety to market, The Gee Whiz Hunnyz Apple, Rebecca will be tasked with educating our retail communities and the consumer market about this unique and unparalleled apple variety.”

Meyer’s produce career spans over 17 years with multiple facets of varying management experience — of late, as national sales manager for Misionero Vegetable, where she was instrumental in growing new business within the value-added vegetable space. Previously she held procurement and retail merchandising/management positions for leading companies throughout the industry, including Robinson Fresh, Stemilt Growers and C&S Wholesale Grocers.

Meyer has notable accolades, being named one of Southeastern Produce Council’s “Next Generation Award Nominees.” In her new role, she will be responsible for strengthening the Gee Whiz retail business, focusing on the eastern and midwestern regions of the United States and Canada.

Meyer is a graduate of St. Joseph University Food Marketing Program as well as United Fresh Leadership Program Class 19. She joined Gee Whiz in September and will be based in North Carolina.
