NEPC announces new leadership positions
The New England Produce Council announced the appointment of David Dearborn of C&S Wholesale Grocers Inc. as its new president and Jodie Reardon of Albertsons as its new first vice president, as well as two new members to its board of directors.
Dearborn brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to NEPC. With over 30 years in the produce industry, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic insight. Dearborn is the vice president of produce at C&S, where he has spent 30 years of his produce career. His journey in produce procurement has been driven by a passion for sustainability and a commitment to creating an inclusive work environment. Each experience has shaped his passion for his work and reinforced the importance of collaboration and innovation.
"I am truly inspired by the mission of the NEPC and its efforts to support education and community initiatives,” he said. “I believe that together, we can make a significant impact in our industry and beyond. We have the ability to drive our success and create a lasting footprint."
He added, “As a proud father of two college graduates, a newly born grandson and a husband of 26 years, I cherish the time spent with my family, whether it's enjoying New England sports or relaxing on Martha's Vineyard. I am excited about the opportunity to collaborate with such a talented board of directors and contribute to our shared goals. I am looking forward to our journey ahead!"
The NEPC board of directors also appointed Jodie Reardon to the position of first vice president. She started in the produce industry over 23 years ago as an assistant buyer at Ahold USA. Then she spent 10 years as a buyer at Whole Foods, as well as senior buyer and trainer at that company’s North Atlantic distribution center. Currently, she has been employed at Albertsons for over six years with two-and-a-half years as director of replenishment and planning. She enjoys golfing, reading and spending time with her husband, Jon, and dogs Hank and Eddie. "I am excited to be promoted to VP,” she said. “In this new role, I feel I can be more impactful to the council and its members."
In addition, the council named two new directors to the board: Scott Maher of Roche Bros. and Lynn Perry of Stop & Shop.
Maher started his career at Roche Bros in 1995. He worked as a full-time clerk, assistant produce manager and produce manager before taking a role as produce merchandiser in 2013, and he recently took the position of produce sales manager. “Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my wife and four kids and their many activities,” he said. "I have always admired the work the NEPC does, and I am really looking forward to contributing in any way I can."
Perry has worked for Stop & Shop since 2003, starting on the logistics side of the business prior to joining the fresh team. She has held multiple roles within fresh, from buyer to category manager and most recently director of fresh procurement. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Matt, and their 13-year-old-son, Ben.
"I have had the pleasure of working with the NEPC for over 20 years and look forward to expanding my contributions as part of the board," she said.
The NEPC board of directors looks forward to its next meeting on Oct. 8 with the newly elected board members.
