LaMont will also spearhead MyLand’s research and development initiatives to improve algae strains, cultivation techniques and processing methods while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and sustainable practices.

LaMont is the chairman of the Algae Biomass Organization, a non-profit organization with the mission to promote and accelerate the power of algae to create a step-change in the health and well-being of humanity and the environment. He has served in leadership positions in the agriculture space, including as chief technical officer for Heliae Development and pilot plant manager for Velocys Inc.
LaMont holds a master's degree in environmental engineering from Washington State University and a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from South Dakota School of Mines & Technology. He has over 25 patents and has contributed to multiple scientific publications.
