Four Seasons mourns loss of longtime industry veteran

Produce industry veteran Wes Jones Sr., known for his memorable laugh, merchant expertise, determination and competitive spirit, died Sept. 22. Mr. Jones last worked for Four Seasons Produce, following a career that spanned more than 30 years.

Mr. Jones got his start working in the produce departments of supermarket groups in the Baltimore-Washington, DC, area. In 1993, he moved his family to Ephrata, PA, to serve on the Four Seasons Produce merchandising team.  While at Four Seasons in the 90s and early 2000s, he led the “Garden Pride” club-store produce program and later the Clemens Markets produce program.

Mr. Jones then moved on to director roles at Global Organics in Florida, W. Lee Flowers in South Carolina, and The MarketPlace in Bermuda. He returned to Four Seasons in 2018 as a value-added category buyer and served in this role until the time of his recent sudden passing.

Mr. Jones cherished his family and  was a dedicated husband, father to two daughters and a son, and a grandpa to four. He took great pride in the fact that his son, Wes Jones II, worked his way up at Four Seasons Produce from warehouse operations to quality control to sales to account management to his current role of sales manager, key accounts. Mr. Jones also loved to enjoy the Florida sunshine with his wife, Susan. He will be dearly missed by family, colleagues and friends around the industry.
