“Having a dedicated organic facility allows us to respond more effectively to market conditions and customer requests,” he said. “Our teams are always prepared and ready to deliver.”
Setton Pistachio’s satellite facility recently expanded capabilities with a new organic receiving pit.
“This furthers our commitment to organic while allowing us to be ready to process from additional orchards,” Setton said.
The organic seven-ounce Roasted Salted Inshell Pistachios and five-ounce Roasted Salted Pistachio Kernels are dry roasted using a proprietary method, with a “touch of sea salt to enhance that fresh from the orchard taste,” he said.
“Each resealable bag features a window, allowing customers to see the premium quality of these pistachios,” Setton said. “These are available in an attractive stand-up display that will catch customers’ attention.”
The OPS offers an organic-centered focus, where retailers will already understand the value of the segment, allowing Setton Farms to meet customers who are actively looking to fill the gap in their pistachio selection with Setton’s organic pistachios, according to the company.
“Retailers can interact with the packaging and displays Setton has to offer and better visualize these products in-store,” Setton said. “Attendees can also learn about the numerous health benefits of pistachios, powerful marketing information that they can pass on to consumers.”
By establishing relationships with retailers and distributors, the company can create new avenues of business that are easy and beneficial to all involved, Joseph Setton said.
Setton Farms is the private label leader of the pistachio industry, he said, and of particular interest on the OPS session schedule is “The Pros & Cons of Private Label & Branded Organic Produce.” The company is interested in a deeper understanding of how retailers are weighing their options between the types of branding.
“We always encourage retailers to use the Setton brand to test their markets and find the strongest SKUs with their customers,” Joseph Setton said. “The Setton Farms brand, with a large variety of innovative pistachio products, can fill the gaps on shelves alongside the own brand."
“This type of program promotes a successful private label program and stronger pistachio category sales, while help keeping risk and cost minimal for the retailer,” he said.
