Breaking News from the Virtual NYAA News Desk

Mrs. Kringle, or as many know her, Mrs. Claus warns readers that Christmas may be canceled if Santa doesn’t lose some weight! Bob for Apples from New York reports the exclusive story.

Bob, adorned with all the wearable trappings of the holiday season, was preparing for his virtual news story when he received an urgent call from Mrs. Claus from the North Pole with an important message for the children of the world.

“Let’s just say that Santa is looking a little extra… jolly these days. Frankly, he’s put on some weight. Centuries of cookies are catching up with him. I had to let out his suit, the reindeer have been complaining, and I’m worried he won’t get his rounds done on time this year!” said Mrs. Claus.

Always eager to assist, Bob asked how kids can help.

“Let’s cut out the cookies and leave Santa a satisfying, nutritious snack that will keep him energized throughout the big night,” said Mrs. Claus.

During the broadcast, Mrs. Claus and Bob agreed that New York apples are the perfect snack for Christmas Eve.

“Just like me, Santa is in love with The Big Flavor. Join me as we save Christmas by leaving Santa the gift of Apples from New York,” said Bob.

“And a little cider would be nice!” Mrs. Claus reminded everyone.

Taking the message to heart, the New York Apple Association is working behind the scenes on creating a Healthy & Nutritious Blog, which will be packed full of healthy recipes and snacking tips.

Kelly Springer, registered dietitian and nutrition spokesperson for NYAA, will share valuable health and nutrition information on the blog, including ideas for healthier snacking options and the importance of eating nutritious food. She will continue to educate listeners on her favorite topic, fiber, and how New York apples are the perfect fiber-rich snack.

NYAA is in production, creating a series of videos focusing on the healthy attributes of New York apples. Bob for Apples from New York has been watching how many slices of apple pie he enjoys by incorporating a New York apple a day. He is on a mission to eat more apples instead of reaching for unhealthy treats and wants others to join him. He has created a special segment called A New York Apple A Day that will begin airing after the New Year.

Springer reminds us that the key word in our daily diet is moderation. We can have those scrumptious, gooey, delightful desserts and snacks, but only once in a while. Bob loves showing off his culinary skills and has promised to eat only a slice of apple pie instead of the whole pie in one sitting while enjoying the holiday season.

Bob and the others at NYAA will be sharing new social media content this season, including an upcoming video featuring celebrated chef Nancy Fuller, which highlights her Apple Sausage Chicken Bake recipe. It’s the perfect recipe for family and friends after a day of holiday shopping. NYAA will also reveal new takes on the greatest fruit ever, showing how New York apples are perfect for salads, sandwiches, appetizers, or, as Bob calls them, “apple-tizers.” They’re also amazing for pairing with fresh or hard cider and hundreds of cheeses.

Bob for Apples from New York will share his love for all New York-grown apples this holiday season on the ApplesFromNY.com website and social media pages. Bob loves New York apples and can’t get enough of them, attributing their great taste to bringing out the chef in him.

The New York Apple Association has plans to showcase the many New York apple varieties through their large 10’ x 20’ display that they will be exhibiting during the New York Produce Show this year. They will also share several cross-promotion ideas for celebrating the holidays with New York apples.

Six hundred King buses will be traversing around NYC, and many attending the show will have the opportunity to see them. The buses have been a big hit this year, and many NYC retailers are getting behind The Big Flavor of New York apples by building large, bountiful displays of New York apples. The New York Apple Association encourages retailers to stock up on New York apples and apple cider this holiday season and leave it out for Santa to enjoy with family and friends as they do their Christmas shopping and entertaining.

“Bob for Apples from New York signing off and wishing you and yours the happiest and apple-iest holiday season ever!”
